abstract |
The present invention relates to a process for easily and efficiently producing an ether compound which comprises reacting a compound having a hydroxy group with an epoxy compound in the presence of an oxide of a Group 4 metal of the periodic table, the oxide having sulfate ions supported thereon. When the metal oxide is examined by X-ray powder diffractometry, the sum of the diffraction intensity for the crystal lattice (111) plane and the diffraction intensity for the crystal lattice (-111) plane is 2,000 cps or more. |
