The present invention relates to a film-covered electric device and a method of manufacturing the same. A battery element (2) is surrounded by and is held between exterior films (4, 5) having heat-seal resin layers, and is sealed by a heat-sealing area (6) formed by heat-sealing the outer periphery thereof over the entire periphery. A crosslinked structure (13) is formed at part of the heat-sealing area (6) by crosslinking the exterior film (5), and a gas open chamber (12) is formed with its tip end positioned at the crosslinked structure (13). The gas open chamber (12) is surrounded by the heat-sealing area (6) over the entire periphery and is a portion where films (4, 5) are not heat-sealed. A both-end-open tube (14) is connected with the chamber (12) while being held between the films (4, 5) with the tip end thereof positioned in the chamber (12). |
