abstract | Disclosed is a solid catalyst component for olefin polymerization that includes a solid component obtained by bringing (a) a magnesium compound, (b) a titanium halogen compound, and (c) an electron donor compound into contact. In the solid catalyst component, a titanium compound that is 0.2-2.5 wt% of the titanium content in the solid catalyst component is washed away by washing with heptane. If an olefin is polymerized using a catalyst that includes the solid catalyst component, a granular or spherical polymer with high stereoregularity and narrow particle size distribution, and with few dust-size particles as well, can be obtained at high yield. |
