abstract The invention discloses a method for researching an SNS-Cr catalytic ethylene oligomerization mechanism by utilizing erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR). The method comprises the following steps of: preparing 1.0*10<-3>M of methylbenzene solution from an SNS-Cr catalyst; adding the prepared catalyst solution, MAO methylbenzene solution and methylbenzene according to different ratios into a 2-milliliter nuclear magnetic tube; and detecting a system before introducing the ethylene and after introducing the ethylene and reacting for 5 minutes by an ESR detection technique. The SNS-Cr catalytic ethylene oligomerization mechanism is researched by analyzing the detection result. By the method, the defects of the research on the SNS-Cr catalytic ethylene oligomerization mechanism by the traditional representation method are overcome. A new simple and quick method for discussing a catalytic mechanism of an ethylene oligomerization catalyst is provided.
