abstract | The invention discloses an application of para-thymol, salts ramification thereof or esters ramification thereof in an animal feed additive. The para-thymol is isomeride of thymol and has the chemical name of 3-methyl-4-isopropyl phenol. The salts ramification of the para-thymol comprises salts formed by para-thymol and metal ions, para-thymol ammonium formed by para-thymol and ammonium, resin salt formed by para-thymol and negative ion resins and the like; and the esters ramification of the para-thymol comprises esters formed by para-thymol and different carboxylic acids. The application firstly discovers that the para-thymol, the salts ramification or the esters ramification is higher in antibacterial activity, lower in volatility, higher in safety and lower in thrill compared with the thymol and the carvacrol. When being taken as the additive of the animal growth promoting feed, the para-thymol, the salts ramification thereof or the esters ramification thereof is better in palatability and growth promoting effect compared with the thymol or the carvacrol. |
