abstract |
The invention provides an impact and sound absorbing material which is lightweight and has a good impact and sound absorbing effect. An impact and sound absorbing material (1) is constructed from a porous member (2) and a surface layer material (3) overlaid on the porous member (2). The surface layer material (3) includes a layer constructed from at least a stretchable paper material (5). The impact and sound absorbing material (1) is mounted on a cover panel (7), such as an engine cover, for covering a noise source. The impact and sound absorbing material (1) is mounted such that the porous material (2) is located on the cover panel (7) side and the surface layer material (3) is located on the noise source side, and this forms a cell structure between the cover panel (7) and the surface layer material (3). |
