abstract | The invention relates to vinyl acetate-ethylene copolymer emulsion (VAE emulsion) and a synthesis method thereof. The synthesis method comprises the processes of pre-emulsification, emulsion polymerization reaction, finishing and defoaming. The invention is characterized in that complex emulsifying agents added into a reaction system include a non-ion emulsifying agent, an anion emulsifying agent and a reactive type emulsifying agent. In the synthesis method, the complex emulsifying agents are adopted mainly, the solid content of the produced VAE emulsion is more than or equal to 54.5%, the number average particle size can be less than 0.3mu m, the stability is good and the viscosity is low; the polymerization reaction time is short, the speed is fast, the conversion rate is high, the technique is simple and the industrialization is easy to realize; and the obtained fine-particle-size VAE emulsion is white in color, can be used for industries such as high-end building coatings, paper and textiles, and has wide market. |
