| abstract | The invention discloses a tobacco additive for reducing tobacco-specific nitrosamines (TSNA) in main stream cigarette smoke, which is characterized by being prepared from by mixing at least any two of kudzu root extracts, chrysanthemum extracts and tangerine reel extracts in the proportion of 2:1-1:2. The tobacco additive has the advantages that by effectively separating and extracting rich substances for blocking a nitratlon reaction from Chinese herbal medicines and adding the substances into cigarette products, the effects on clearing and nourishing throat and relieving cough of the Chinese herbal medicines can be performed and objectionable constituents in tobaccos can be reduced, and thus, double purposes of health care and harm decrease can be achieved; and verified by assay experiments, 15-21% of the TSNA in the main stream cigarette smoke can be reduced. |
