abstract |
Disclosed is a novel ruthenium compound which is useful as an asymmetric reduction catalyst for a carbonyl compound. The ruthenium compound is represented by the following formula (I): Ru(X)2(Pxx)[R1R2C(NH2)-R3R4C(NH2)], and when the compound is used as an asymmetric reduction catalyst, an optically active aminoalcohol compound can be highly stereoselectively produced with high yield from an a-aminoketone compound, particularly from a compound represented by formula (IV). |
