Disclosed is a flame-retardant composition having superior heat resistance to that of conventional flame-retardant compositions. Specifically disclosed is a flame-retardant composition comprising a silane-crosslinked polyolefin, a polyolefin, a metal hydrate, a phenol-type antioxidant, a sulfur-containing antioxidant, a metal oxide, and a copper deactivator. The sulfur-containing antioxidant is preferably a benzimidazole compound. The metal oxide is preferably zinc oxide. The silane-crosslinked polyolefin is preferably a product produced by silane-crosslinking a polyethylene having a density of 0.880 to 0.910 g/cm<3>. The polyolefin is preferably a polyethylene having a density of 0.880 to 0.910 g/cm<3> or an olefin elastomer having a melting point of 140 DEG C or higher. |
