The present invention relates to the surface treatment of devices. The surface treatment includes incorporation of the reactive block copolymer onto the surface of the substrate by reaction of reactive functional groups of the terminally functionalized surface material with complementary surface reactive functional groups in monomeric units on the polymeric substrate. The present invention also relates to surface-modified medical devices, examples of which include contact lenses, intraocular lenses, vascular stents, phakic intraocular lenses, aphakic intraocular lenses, corneal implants, catheters, implants, etc., including Surfaces prepared by the method described. |
