abstract The invention discloses a rosin-based chelating gemini surfactant and a preparation method thereof. The rosin-based chelating gemini surfactant has the structure general formula as follows, and in the formula, M is metal ion K or Na, and PEG is polyethylene glycol with the molecular weight which is any in 400, 600, 1000, 2000 and 4000. The invention also discloses the compound and the preparation method thereof; and the preparation method comprises the steps of: using rosin and polyethylene glycol for esterification, carrying out D-A addition on conjugated double bonds in the rosin, and obtaining the rosin-based chelating surfactant by alkali neutralization. The prepared surfactant has metal ion chelating performance and strong surface activity, and the raw materials are low in price, easily obtained and can be biodegradable. The rosin-based chelating gemini surfactant is a novel functional green surfactant.
