titleOfInvention Method for operating a dc-dc converter
abstract The invention relates to a method for operating a DC-DC converter according to the so-called current mode control, wherein a current measuring signal for determining the turn-off time of a converter switching element (S1) is fed to a PWM controller (1) and wherein a voltage that is proportional to the current measuring signal is compared by means of a comparator (2) to a reference voltage. If the reference voltage is exceeded, the converter switching element (S1) is turned off. Thus, precise current limiting is realized with little effort that does not require any balancing methods of an internal current limitation of the PWM-controller (1).
