abstract The invention provides a method for staining a protozoon sample, which comprises the steps of preparing solution, manufacturing a blade specimen and staining. The solution comprises polyvinyl alcohol fixative, trichrome staining solution and Masson trichrome staining solution. The conventional Schaudinn's solution is replaced by relatively low-toxic environmental-friendly polyvinyl alcohol fixative and the staining of polypide is enhanced by a composite trichrome staining method at the same time, so that the conventional trichrome staining effect is achieved and the specimen can be stored for a long time. The polyvinyl alcohol fixative is non-toxic and environmental-friendly, and does not have obvious harm to human bodies; and the internal color is more abundant and the structure is clearer after the polypide is subjected to composite staining.
