titleOfInvention | Method for production of reduced coenzyme Q10 using water-containing organic solvent |
abstract | Disclosed is a method for producing reduced coenzyme Q10 which is useful as a food, a food with a nutrient function, a food for specified health uses, a nutritional supplement, a nutrient, a veterinary medicine, a beverage, a feed, a cosmetic, a medicine, a therapeutic agent, a prophylactic agent or the like. Specifically disclosed is a method for producing reduced coenzyme Q10, which is characterized by reducing oxidized coenzyme Q10 in a water-containing organic solvent at pH 5 or lower by using an ascorbic acid component as a reducing agent. The method can achieve the shortest reaction time and the minimum adverse side reactions without the need of adding any basic substance or the like, and therefore enables to produce high-quality reduced coenzyme Q10. |
