titleOfInvention Long-term stable oil PTFE dispersion and method for production thereof
abstract The invention relates to the field of chemistry and concerns long-term stable oil PTFE dispersions, as can be used for example in gears or bearings, and a method for their production. The aim of the present invention is therefore specifying long-term stable oil PTFE dispersion, and a simple and cost-effective method for its production. This task is solved by an oil PTFE dispersion comprising PTFE particles and a singly or multiply olefinically unsaturated oil, wherein molecules of the olefinically unsaturated oil an PTFE (primary) particle surfaces are coupled covalently/chemically by radical reactions, and wherein there is permanent charge separation between the PTFE particle surfaces and the coupled oil molecules and a fine dispersing of the PTFE particles in the oil or oil mixture. This task is further solved by a method in which modified PTFE (emulsion) polymers with persistent perfluor(peroxy) radical are mixed in with olefinically unsaturated oil, after which the modified PTFE (emulsion)polymers undergo mechanical stress.
