A new P-N-P ligand having the formula (ortho-F-C6H4)2P-N-C(CH3)2 in which each phosphorus atom is bonded to two ortho-fluorine- substituted phenyl groups. In combination with i) a source of chromium and ii) and activator such as methalumoxane, the P-N-P ligand of this invention is useful in ethylene oligomerizations. Under preferred reaction conditions, the hexenes and octenes produced using thisligand are predominantly hexene-1 and octene-1, with very low levels of internal olefins. |
