titleOfInvention Ear clinical thermometer and its control method
abstract An ear clinical thermometer for measuring the body temperature having a probe (3) containing a temperature detecting element (21) for detecting the environment temperature and an infrared detecting element (22) for detecting infrared radiation emitted from a temperature measurement region of an aural cavity. The ear clinical thermometer comprises a probe cover (10) detachably provided to a probe,a detection switch (60) for detecting detachment/attachment of the probe cover from/to the probe, and temperature conversion coefficients (52a, 52b) for correcting the body temperature on the basis ofthe results of the detections by the two detecting elements. Alternatively, the ear clinical thermometer comprises a detection switch (60) for detecting detachment/attachment of a probe cover from/toa probe, a temperature conversion coefficient (52a) for correcting the body temperature on the basis of the results of the detections by two detecting elements, a control unit (50) for judging from the number of actual uses of the probe cover whether or not the number of actual uses is below a limit number of uses, and a loudspeaker (12) or a liquid crystal display unit for warning for promptingreplacement of the probe cover when the number of actual uses exceeds the limit number of uses.
