The invention provides an electrolyte solution and an application of the same in a dye-sensitized solar battery. The general formula of an oxidation-reduction pair of the electrolyte solution is nA+((A-A)<2+>B2)+Mm+*(C<+>D<->)+Yis+Zg, wherein A and (A-A)<2+>B2 respectively express reducing material and oxidizing material in the oxidation-reduction pair; M expresses organic solvent, C<+>D<-> expresses ion liquid, IS expresses inorganic salt, G expresses additive in electrolyte; n is the mol ratio of the A and the (A-A)<2+>B2 in the oxidation-reduction pair, and m, x, y and z respectively express mol ratios of the organic solvent, the ion liquid, the inorganic salt and the additive to the (A-A)<2+>B2. The invention also provides the application of the electrolyte solution in the oxidation-reduction pair to the preparation of the dye-sensitized solar battery. The oxidation-reduction pair has excellent performance, no corrosion, and better electron transfer characteristic on a carbon electrode. |
