titleOfInvention | Particulate water-absorbent polymer and process for production thereof |
abstract | Disclosed is a process for producing a particulate water-absorbent polymer having remarkably improved long-term color stability, which is not adversely affected during the synthesis of the particulatewater-absorbent polymer such as the delay in the polymerization. The process comprises the steps of polymerizing an aqueous monomer solution (B) comprising at least one monomer (A) which can be polym erized to form the particulate water-absorbent polymer, at least one crosslinking agent, at least one polymerization initiator and an organophosphorus compound in an amount of 1 to 100 ppm by mass relative to the amount of the monomer (A) to form a hydrogel-type polymer, and drying the hydrogel-type polymer. The process enables to provide an excellent particulate water-absorbent polymer having allof long-term color stability, urine resistance and absorption property which are mutually contradictory properties. |
