abstract | The present invention relates to a liquid crystal orientating agent and a liquid crystal display element. The liquid crystal orientating agent has an excellent printing character even though for a substrate with a large gradation, and is capable of forming a liquid crystal orientating film capable of representing a high tilt angle stably. The liquid crystal orientating film includes at least one polymer selected from a group set composed of polyamic acid and imide polymer made by dewatering and closing loop the polyamic acid, the polyamic acid is made by a reaction of a diamine and a tetracarboxylic acid dianhydride, the diamine contains a specific compound representing by 3, 5-diamino benzenesulfoin acid cholestane group ester and a specific compound represented by a compound represented by formula (B-5). |
