titleOfInvention Patch antenna unit and antenna unit
abstract The present invention provides a patch antenna unit and an antenna unit which are miniaturized while avoiding deterioration in radiation characteristics, e.g. gain, efficiency or the like. A first electrode (3) is formed on the front (2a) of a rectangular parallelepiped dielectric substrate (2), a second electrode (4) is formed on the backside (2b) of the dielectric substrate (2), and the first electrode (3) is connected with a feeding section (100) through a coaxial cable (120). Width W of the first and second electrodes (3, 4) is set not longer than a quarter of its length L, and the thickness T of the dielectric substrate (2) is set not thinner than the width W. More preferably, the second electrode (4) is set longer than the first electrode (3) and the opposite ends of the second electrode (4) are bent and arranged on the opposite end faces (2e, 2f) of the dielectric substrate (2).
