A pneumatic tire comprising a air permeation preventing layer formed by pasting a resin film mainly containing thermoplastic resin to the inner wall surface of the tire, wherein a ribbon-form laminate formed by laminating the resin film as a slender slit film-form resin film on an elastomer is coiled continuously and spirally in the tire circumferential direction with its edge partially lapped to form an air permeation preventing layer. The pneumatic tire is lightweight and excellent in air permeation preventing feature, does not cause splice open in the air permeation preventing layer when the tire is built, and can shorten a building time; and a production method therefore is also provided. |
