titleOfInvention Process for the preparation of ethylene polymers using a number of reactors arranged in series
abstract The invention relates to a process for preparing ethene polymer using a plurality of reactors arranged in series. The process comprises the following steps: a) inducing ethene, diluent, catalyst, promoter, an optional comonomer and hydrogen into the first reactor; b) implementing the polymerization of ethane and the optional comonomer in the reaction mixture in the first reactor to make ethene polymer; c) discharging the reacted mixture from the first reactor; d) inducing the reacted mixture, fresh ethane, optional comonomer and hydrogen into the subsequent reactor to make another ethene polymer; e) discharging the reacted mixture from the subsequent reactor and inducing it with fresh ethane (if it exists), optional comonomer and hydrogen into the subsequent reactor to make another ethene polymer, repeating the step c) and d) until the last one of the reactor series; f) discharging the reacted mixture from the last one of the reactor series and obtains ethene polymer. In which, promoter is induced in at least one of the subsequent reactors in the reactor series. The advantage of the process is capable of reducing the catalyst consumption under the same ethene polymer yield, in another word, is increasing the production rate. In the optimal embodiments, the process in the invention is performed in double loop reactor under slurry condition.
