abstract The invention discloses a catalyst for cracking low-carbon alcohol to prepare low-carbon alkene. The catalyst consists of the following raw materials in weight percentage: 1 to 99 percent of a beta molecular sieve, 1 to 90 percent of a non-beta type molecular sieve and 0 to 15 percent of a caking agent. The catalyst can remarkably improve the selectivity of the low-carbon alkene in particular propylene in the cracking process of the low-carbon alcohol and obviously reduce the generation of methane in the catalytic cracking process. The invention also discloses a method for preparing the catalyst; and the method has a simple process and is favorable for industrial production.
