A body fat measuring apparatus (100) comprises an upper extremity unit (1) including holding parts (121, 122) that can be held with the subject's hands and a body part (110) and lower extremity electrodes (F1, F2) to be in contact with the subject's lower extremity. The holding parts include upper extremity electrodes (H1, H2) and the body part has a first face (130) to be in contact with the surface of the subject's abdomen, and a pair of first electrodes (B, C) and a pair of second electrodes (A, D) disposed on the first face. The body fat measuring apparatus calculates the amount of the subject's visceral fat from two potential differences detected when a current is applied via the pairs of the upper extremity electrodes and the lower extremity electrodes and when a current is applied via the pair of the second electrodes, and information on the subject's body. |
