The invention provides a novel ligand represented by the following formula and a novel transition metal complex containing the ligand, which shows excellent enantioselectivity and catalytic efficiency, particularly shows high catalytic activity, in various asymmetric synthesis reactions. The transition metal complex adopts a compound represented by the right formula as a ligand, wherein R<4> represents a hydrogen atom or a random C1-6 alkyl group having a substituent group, and R<5> and R<6> independently represent a random C1-6 alkyl group having a substituent group, or formula I is a group represented by formula II, wherein ring B represents a random 3- to 8-membered ring having a substituent group. |
