abstract |
A process for producing a modified conjugated diene polymer which comprises: a step in which a conjugated diene polymer having a vinyl content less than 10% and a cis-1,4 bond content of 75% or higher and having an active end is modified at the active end with an alkoxysilane compound; and a step in which the alkoxysilane compound (residue) is condensed in an aqueous solution having a pH of 9-14 and a temperature of 85-180 DEG C in the presence of a condensation accelerator comprising a compound containing titanium element. By the process, a modified conjugated diene copolymer can be produced which can give a rubber composition reduced in heat build-up and having enhanced suitability for reinforcement and which is excellent in wearing resistance, mechanical properties, and processability. |
