An object of the present invention is to provide an organometallic complex that can increase the recombination efficiency of electrons and holes. One aspect of the present invention is an organometallic complex having a structure represented by general formula ( 1 ), wherein each of R and R is a halogen group, a -CF group, a cyano group and any one of alkoxycarbonyl, each of R3 and R4 is any one of hydrogen and an alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and M is an element belonging to Group 9 or Group 10 of the Periodic Table of Elements . |
