A hydrous powdery cosmetic preparation which has satisfactory storage stability and, after application, gives an excellent fresh feeling free from powdery or frictional feeling. It can be highly evenly applied without generating scales or twists. It gives a cosmetic film undergoing no color fading with time. It further has excellent cosmetic retention. The hydrous powdery cosmetic preparation is characterized by comprising (a) a hydrophobic powder having a surface area of 80 m<SUP>2</SUP>/g or larger, (b) a flaky powder comprising a polymer obtained by polymerizing or copolymerizing one or more monomers selected from the group consisting of styrene compounds, methacrylic esters, and acrylic esters, and (c) an aqueous ingredient, and by liquefying upon application with rubbing. |
