The flame-retardant artificial polyester hair, which retains fiber properties such as heat resistance and strength/elongation and is excellent in suitability for setting, transparency, and touch feeling, is characterized by being obtained by melt-spinning a resin composition obtained by melt-kneading a polyester together with a brominated flame retardant, the brominated flame retardant having a melting point of 160-320 DEG C and a 5% heating loss temperature of 220-450 DEG C or the brominated flame retardant being a mixture of a brominated flame retardant (b1) having a 5% heating loss temperature of 220-310 DEG C and a brominated flame retardant (b2) having a 5% heating loss temperature of 310 DEG C or higher. |
