abstract |
A polyester-based fiber for artificial hairs which retains fiber properties inherent in general polyester fibers, such as heat resistance and strength/elongation, is excellent in flame retardancy, fixability, nondripping property, transparency, and unsusceptibility to devitrification, and has a controlled gloss; and artificial hairs each comprising the fiber. Either a composition obtained by melt-kneading 100 pts.wt. of (A) one or more polyesters selected among polyalkylene terephthalates and copolyesters consisting mainly of a polyalkylene terephthalate together with 2 to 20 pts.wt. of (B) a cyclic organophosphorus compound and/or phosphoric ester amide compound or a composition obtained by mixing these ingredients with (C) fine organic particles and/or (D) fine inorganic particles is subjected to melt spinning to thereby obtain the flame-retardant polyester-based fiber for artificial hairs, which has those properties. |
