abstract | The present invention relates to a method for producing phenyl alkanes, which comprises the following steps: a) a material feeding stream comprising a first concentration of a first acyclic paraffin with a carbon range of C8 to C28 and 2 or 3 primary carbon atoms and at least one second acyclic paraffin is delivered to an adsorption zone comprising a bed of an adsorbing agent containing silicalite under adsorption promoting conditions to selectively absorb at least a portion of the first acyclic paraffin by contacting the bed of the adsorbing agent with a material desorbing stream comprising at least one component selected from a C5 to C8 cycloparaffin, a C5 to C8 normal paraffin and a C5 to C8 branched paraffin and adsorption extract comprising a second concentration of a first acyclic paraffin is recycled from the adsorption zone, and the second concentration is higher than the first concentration; b) at least a portion of the adsorption extract is delivered to a dehydrogenation zone, the dehydrogenation zone is operated under dehydrogenation conditions which are sufficient to dehydrogenate the first acyclic paraffin and a dehydrogenated product stream comprising an acyclic monoolefin with a carbon range of C8 to C28 and 2 or 3 primary carbon atoms is recycled from the dehydrogenation zone; c) the material feeding stream comprising phenyl compounds and the dehydrogenated product stream comprising at least a portion of an acyclic mono-paraffin are delivered to an alkylation zone, the phenyl compounds and acyclic mono-paraffin are sufficiently operated under alkylation conditions in the presence of an alkylation catalyst to form a phenyl alkane comprising a molecule of an aliphatic alkyl which comprises a phenyl part and a C8 to C28 part, wherein the aliphatic alkyl part comprises 2 or 3 primary carbon atoms and does not comprise any quaternary carbon atom; the quaternary carbon atom is not in key joint with the carbon atom of the phenyl part by means of a. |
