A method for recovering at least one base metal ion from a material comprising at least one base metal sulfide, comprising: - contacting the material with an acid solution comprising halide ions, and formamidine disulfide (FDS) to produce a charged solution comprising the at least one base metal ion; and - recovering the at least one base metal ion from the charged solution. |
