abstract THE PRESENT INVENTION REFERS TO COMPOSITIONS IN THE FORM OF OIL-IN-WATER DISPERSIONS INCLUDING A SILICONE OIL HAVING AN AVERAGE DROP DIAMETER OF APPROXIMATELY 2000 MICRONS OR LESS AND A POLYMERIC THICKENER. THESE COMPOSITIONS ARE USEFUL TO STIMULATE THE PRODUCTION OF COLLAGEN IN HUMAN PATIENTS AND OTHER ANIMALS, AND HAVE APPLICATIONS FOR THE INCREASE OF SOFT TISSUE FOR VARIOUS MEDICAL AND COSMETIC PROCEDURES. THE PRESENT INVENTION FURTHER REFERS TO METHODS FOR PREPARING THESE COMPOSITIONS AND TO METHODS FOR STIMULATING COLLAGEN PRODUCTION IN HUMAN PATIENTS AND OTHER MAMMALS IN NEED OF IT. DIFFERENT TO THE STATE OF THE ART, THE COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS OF THE PRESENT INVENTION ARE ESPECIALLY USEFUL TO STIMULATE THE PRODUCTION OF HIGH QUALITY COLLAGEN THAT IS UNIFORM, SMOOTH, DURABLE AND HAS GOOD STRUCTURAL INTEGRITY.
