METHODS ARE PROVIDED FOR THE PRODUCTION OF L-GLUFOSINATE (ALSO KNOWN AS PHOSPHINOTRICIN OR ACID (S) -2-AMINO-4- (HYDROXY (METHYL) PHOSPHONOIL) BUTANOIC). THE METHODS INCLUDE A TWO STAGE PROCESS. THE FIRST STAGE INCLUDES THE OXIDATIVE DEAMINATION OF D-GLUFOSINATE IN PPO (2-OXO-4- ACID (HYDROXY (METHYL) PHOSPHINOIL) BUTYRICAL). THE SECOND STAGE UNDERSTANDS THE SPECIFIC AMINATION OF PPO IN L-GLUFOSINATE, USING AN AMINA GROUP OF ONE OR MORE AMINAS DONORS. THROUGH THE COMBINATION OF THESE TWO REACTIONS, THE PROPORTION OF L-GLUFOSINATO IN A MIXTURE OF L-GLUFOSINATO AND DGLUFOSINATO CAN BE INCREASED SUBSTANTIELY. |
