abstract <p> The present invention relates to a product of titanium oxide functionalized with elements of group 13 of the periodic table such as B and Al titanium boron oxide (TiO2B: "functionalized" boron titanium oxide) or oxide of titanium-aluminum (TiO2Al: titanium oxide "functionalized" with Aluminum) alone or immobilized in a polymer matrix, for photo-degradation of organic compounds in water, in which the TiO2 used is of a technical grade of the anatase type. The invention encompasses the method of preparation of TiO2B and TiO2Al, the immobilization process in a polymeric matrix and its uses in photodegradation of contaminated water, both as isolated products, as well as products immobilized in a polymeric matrix. </p>
