titleOfInvention | Process for the synthesis of polyhalogenated perhaloalkylaniline compounds. |
abstract | The invention relates to a process for the preparation of polyhalogenated perfluoroalkylanilines which are particularly useful as reaction intermediates for the production of agrochemicals. The product of the process of the invention is obtained by the action of anhydrous monomethylamine on 3,4-dichlorobenzotrifluoride at a temperature of 140 to 200 ° C. The resulting intermediate is halogenated with halogenating agents such as chlorine, sulfuryl chloride and PCI5. The deactivated aniline is then dealkylated with a catalytic amount of pyridine salt and dry HCl gas at 180 to 190 ° C or with anhydrous hydrobromic acid to obtain 2,6-dichloro-4-trifluoromethylaniline. |
