The flat rod further comprises a flat clothing (24) with a strip-shaped support element, wherein the flat clothing is arranged in the recess (14f) and fixed to the cover leg. The flat cover (24) of the flat bar (14) comes in the installed state of the flat bar (14) to lie on a carding against a set of a drum of the card. In the case of the flat rod, at least the areas of the flat clothing (24) facing the lid foot are made of a ferrous material, in particular of steel. The flat bar comprises at least one magnetic means (29) which is arranged in the recess (14f) between the lid foot and the areas of the flat clothing (24) facing the lid foot. On a fiber material inlet side of the flat clothing (24), the flat rod has an abutment (34) projecting into the recess (14f), against which a counter element (33 ') associated with the flat clothing (24) strikes off the cover assembly (24) can support.
