abstract | The device allows permanent removal of individual unwanted body hairs using galvanopuncture. It has a hollow cylindrical handpiece made of a conductive metal, with an electrically insulated needle at one end, the interior of the handpiece containing a series of batteries (8), with opposite battery poles coupled to the needle and the handpiece.The needle is inserted into the root of the hair to be removed for application of a current which kills the root before removal of the hair by plucking, all of the needle except the extreme end pref. coated with an insulating material. |
