titleOfInvention | Oxime ethers, a process for their preparation, agents which contain such oxime ethers and their use |
abstract | The novel oxime ethers of the formula I <IMAGE> in which R1 denotes halogen, C1-C4 alkyl, C1-C4 alkoxy, or hydrogen, and R2 denotes hydrogen, or R1 denotes hydrogen and R2 denotes trifluoromethyl, R3 denotes hydrogen or methyl, R4 denotes C1-C8 alkyl, branched or straight-chain, or a 5-6-membered, saturated heterocycle which is bound via the methylene bridge and which contains one oxygen or sulphur atom and/or 1 - 3 nitrogen atoms, or denotes a C1-C4 alkyl radical, are able, as antidotes or "safeners", to protect cultivated plants from the phytotoxic effect of aggressive herbicides. The relevant cultivated plants are preferentially millet, cereals, maize and rice and the relevant herbicides principally chloroacetanilides and thiolcarbamates. The oxime ethers are prepared by reacting an alkali metal salt or an alkaline earth metal salt of a alpha , alpha , alpha -trifluoroacetophenonoxime, which is substituted by R1 and R2, with an ester <IMAGE> in which Y represents an organic or inorganic acid radical, which is capable of reaction. |
