The process for the preparation of 1 alpha -hydroxylated vitamin D compounds from 5,6-trans-vitamin D compounds consists in allylically oxidising a 5,6-trans-vitamin D compound, irradiating the oxidation product actinically in the presence of a photosensitising agent and obtaining the 1 alpha -hydroxylated compound. |
