titleOfInvention | 7beta-Aminoimidazolylacetylamino-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid compounds, process for their preparation and pharmaceutical preparations which contain these compounds |
abstract | 7 beta -Aminoimidazolylacetylamino-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid compounds of the formula <IMAGE> in which R1 denotes hydrogen, lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, halogen or a group -CH2-R2, in which R2 represents hydroxyl, mercapto, esterified hydroxyl or mercapto, etherified hydroxyl or mercapto or a quaternary ammonio group, R3 denotes carboxyl or protected carboxyl, R4 denotes a substituted or unsubstituted hydrocarbon radical or an acyl group, and in compounds of the formula IA additionally hydrogen, and A denotes carbonyl, a methylene group or a methyl group, which is substituted by amino, protected amino, hydroxyl, protected hydroxyl, sulpho, protected sulpho or by a group of the formula =N-O-R5, in which R5 represents hydrogen, lower alkyl, substituted lower alkyl, cycloalkyl, substituted cycloalkyl, cycloalkenyl, lower alkenyl, carbamoyl or substituted carbamoyl. Hydrates and pharmaceutically acceptable salts of these compounds have antibiotic properties and are active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms. The novel compounds can be used for the treatment of infections, e.g. in the form of antibiotically active preparations. The novel compounds are prepared in a manner known per se. |
