The new phthalocyanines are of the formula Me(PC)-(R)v, in which PC represents the phthalocyanine ring system, v has any value between 1 and 4, Me denotes Na, K, Ag, Ca, Mg or Al(X), where X denotes an anion, and R represents a group of the formula -SO3Y, <IMAGE> or <IMAGE>, in which Y denotes hydrogen, an alkali metal ion, ammonium ion or amine ion, X1 denotes oxygen or the NH group, n denotes a number from 1 to 12, R1 and R2, independently of one another, denote hydrogen or the sulpho group and salts thereof, the carboxyl group and salts thereof or the hydroxyl group, with at least one of the radicals R1 and R2 denoting a sulpho or carboxyl group or salts thereof, and R3 and R4, independently of one another, denote hydrogen, alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, cyanoalkyl or haloalkyl having from 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or R3 and R4, together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached, form a saturated, 5- or 6-membered heterocyclic ring which may also contain a further nitrogen or oxygen atom as ring member. They are used as microbicides on a variety of substrates outside the textile industry. <IMAGE> |
