titleOfInvention | Paper, process for its preparation and its use |
abstract | In paper for enveloping purposes, in particular for foodstuffs and convenience foods, such as meat packaging paper and teabag paper, the problem of high alkali wet strength and good absorbence arises. Above all in the case of teabag paper, there must be no impediment to the passage of water or aqueous infusion. For a solution, a paper in the form of a fibre web is provided which contains a water-soluble, cationic, thermosetting resin containing epihalogenohydrin, a film-forming material selected from a group of materials comprising cellulose derivatives, polyvinyl alcohol, starch, starch derivatives and natural resins, and an incorporated polyalkyleneimine. The process proceeds in such a way that a fibrous paper web is formed and the fibres are treated with a water-soluble, cationic, thermosetting resin containing epihalogenohydrin, a film-forming material selected from a group of materials comprising cellulose derivatives, polyvinyl alcohol, starch, starch derivatives and natural resins, and a polyalkyleneimine. |
