titleOfInvention | Process for preparing a dried, amorphous, acid-neutralising aluminium hydroxide gel |
abstract | A dried, amorphous, acid-neutralising aluminium hydroxide gel is prepared by bringing an amorphous, aqueous aluminium hydroxide gel into contact with at least one inert organic solvent of sufficient solvency to exchange the water in the gel. Then the inert organic solvent is removed, and the amorphous aluminium hydroxide gel is dried to give an amorphous powder which is stable with respect to acid reactants. The gel obtained shows effective reactivity with respect to acids over a period of at least 2 years. The gel obtained can be used in oral pharmaceutical compositions in an acid-neutralising therapy. |
