titleOfInvention | Method for restoring the laterally worn guide surfaces of rails |
abstract | The lateral areas of wear on the rail are first of all completely filled with a soft ferritic welding material. A recess with a width of from 6 to 10 mm and a depth of from 5 to 6 mm is then formed in this filling material and the recess is then filled with austenitic welding material. Finally, the welded-on weld metal is machined to reestablish precisely the rail profile. This new process has the advantage that crumbling of the welded-on wearing parts during subsequent stressing is avoided. <IMAGE> |
