titleOfInvention | Composition for regulating the growth of plants and its use |
abstract | The invention relates to compositions for regulating, in particular inhibiting, the growth of plants, in particular of grasses, cereals, ornamentals, tobacco and the like, and to the use of the compositions for this purpose. Active substances which are used in the compositions are novel ammonioalkanecarboxanilides of the formula <IMAGE> in which the symbols R1 to R5 independently of one another in each case denote hydrogen or any identical or different substituents, R6 to R8 independently of one another in each case denote identical or different substituents from the group consisting of alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, cyanoalkyl, haloalkyl, hydroxyalkyl, aralkyl, amino, alkoxyalkyl or carbalkoxyalkyl where two alkyl radicals together with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached can also form a saturated heterocyclic ring which can additionally contain an oxygen atom as ring member, or three radicals together can form an unsaturated heterocyclic ring which can additionally contain a further nitrogen atom as a ring member, "alkylene" denotes a saturated straight-chain or branched hydrocarbon bridge having not more than three C atoms, and X denotes the anion of any non-phytotoxic acid HX. |
