abstract The heavy duty washing powder contains a surface-active system which essentially consists of a synthetic, organic, anionic, non-soap-like surface-active agent and a water-soluble soap and of a builder system which contains a water-soluble soap and a tripolyphosphate. The content of synthetic, organic, anionic, non-soap-like surface-active agent is 5 to 50% by weight, that of water-soluble soap is 10 to 30% by weight and that of tripolyphosphate salt is 10 to 25% by weight. The soap can be a mixture of soaps of tallow-like fats and coconut oil soaps in a ratio by weight of 9 : 1 to 3 : 1. The ratio by weight of soaps to tripolyphosphate salt is generally less than 1 : 1.
