abstract | Novel 1-aminoalkyl-2-arylcyclohexanol compounds of the following formula <IMAGE> are prepared in which: R<4> denotes hydrogen or alkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, and R<5> and R<6> individually in each case denote hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 8 carbon atoms, hydroxyl or alkoxy having 1 to 8 carbon atoms. The starting material used is an appropriately substituted 2-arylcyclohexanolcarboxylic acid, which is reacted first with a haloester of the formula XCOR, in which R is a hydrocarbon radical, and then with an alkali metal azide. The compound obtained is then hydrolysed. The preparation of pharmaceutically acceptable acid addition salts and quaternary salts is also described. The said compounds, and also their salts, have an analgesic, local anaesthetic and antiarrhythmic activity. |
